My nose surgery has been scheduled. I will be admitted into the hospital on April 8th and the surgery will be performed the next day on the 9th. The post-operation stay in the hospital is normally 7 days.

The issue with my nose is a deviated nasal septum + bilateral inferior turbinate hypertrophy + bilateral ethmoid sinusitis.

I have had this nasal congestion since I was a child and I have been stuck for more than 20 years with mouth- assisted breathing. Recently this year, the conditions have worsened where I’m awoken by my own saliva at night both with a dry throat and loud breathing. Then I keep drinking water, but then keep having to go to toilet. My sleep during the night is just awful – its like having to run on full power but only being able to charge to 50%. My own physical examinations have shown really poor results.

At first, I was using nasal spray, hot compression, anti-inflammatory – but nothing has worked. So after several examinations and discussions with doctors, I have carefully decided to go through with the operation.

We have also discussed the issues of the Empty Nose Syndrome. Nothing in the surgical plan will cause the empty nose syndrome operation.

I have seen the worries of everyone – and even if there isn’t an immediate and apparent effect from doing this surgery, I don’t want to have regrets because I didn’t at least try it.

Thank you to everyone for your concern
