Q: Now, Fortitude, as your popularity has continuously grown, you are gaining more and more fans. Is there anything you would like to say to these supportive fans?
Fortitude: Thank you so much for your support – your support motivates me to improve. I’m going to repay your support with even more exciting games.
Q: Since the NeXT tournament, how is your state of mind?
Fortitude: Actually I feel no excited, advancing to the Playoffs is just the beginning, the next opponent is stronger, and I need to be prepared to face the game.
Translator note:
Fortitude won the Group Stage on 21st April, and the Playoffs will start on 3rd May. Link to the tournament: NetEase Esports X Tournament – 2020 Spring
Q: In the group stage, you beat ice orc 2-0. What do you think of the strength of this young player?
Fortitude: I think he is really strong, but he needs more real hard strenth. He has hot to get abused and put through the wringer a few more times. (To be honest, warcraft is growing within the abuse). But within his age group, he is really good.
Q: For this NeXT tournament, what goals have you set for yourself?
Fortitude: No goals – just play well every match.
Q: In the NeXT’s Quarterfinals, your opponent is 120. Seeing this, many have already commented that 120 is the favorite. What would you like to say to this?
Fortitude: I have nothing to say about that. No matter who I meet, people will say that I’m the underdog. I have no choice but to practice hard and try to kill some of this units.
Q: Haha, Fortitude, your answer is quite humble. Now, we would like to ask you, how about joining the LP team.
Fortitude: Because at that time, the manager Lu Feng recognized my talent. There was a lot of players then and my light was rather dim – yet, he still found me. I was so happy, he was so sincere, so of course, I joined LP.
Q: Seems your joining was a story of “Swift Horse(千里马) and Bole(伯乐)”. Compared to the Singles Tournament, what is the difference in a team league?
Fortitude: Team games are a reflection of teamwork with a strong feeling of honor. Nonteam games are just not as fun.
Translator note: About Swift Horse and Bole
千里马 actually stands for “a horse which can run thousand miles” if we translate directly, which means it’s a very good horse.
And 伯乐 (Bole) was a man in China’s history who knew the horse very well and was able to recognize which horse was very talented while others could not.
Nowadays, when we say you meet your “Bole”, this means you are very talented and you finally meet someone who iss able to appreciate your talent.
Q: Now that the team tournament is in full swing, many people believe that LP will make it to the semi-finals. So, I would like to ask, what goals have your team set? Which other team is your biggest competition?
Fortitude: That is hard to say. As long as we are not the worst. All the teams are quite good – though the strongest is probably RW or ELL.
Q: 1.32 patch has already been out for a long time. Do you think in the next version human will be buffed or nerfed?
Fortitude: That is hard to say – I don’t know. Perhaps they will be buffed. Also, I think the movement when priest casting is stupid.
Q: Do you have any balance suggestions?
Fortitude: I personally think there are some things that are not reasonable. For instance, the TC stomp has a 5 second stun, 6 second cool down and when he stomps, everything is just dead. Also, the Warden’s ultimate already has invincible spirits, why does the duration have to be so long?? (While the DKs ultimate duration is unfairly so short.) Another thing is that some of the speed moving auras increase speed by 30%. A normal unit already running at 280, then you add 30% movement mean that you will never catch up with them. Issues like these are really quite unreasonable and really lower the competitiveness of Warcraft 3.
