Incredible comeback by Lyn in the Finals!

In the just-concluded tournament – NeXT spring 2020, Lyn made a incredible comeback from 0-2 to 3-2 in the final. Just a day before, Lyn also won the championship in the WGL April Qualifier. Among them, defeating Infi in Random vs Random was even more impressive.

In the second half of last year (2019), it was undoubtedly a highlight moment to Lyn. He was being in a hot shape and he won the championship with the highest prize in the year. However, after the year, Lyn encountered a struggling period, failed to win a championship in consecutive games, especially in facing against Moon, he was even more difficult to win.

Now, Lyn used these two championships from these two days to announce: he is still the king standing on the peak. Regarding NeXT Spring 2020, or defeating Infi in Random vs Random, you must have a lot of things you want to know them. Let’s take a closer look through with this interview.

At that time, I was very happy because Moon did win the game.

Q: First of all, congratulations to Lyn for defeating 120 and winning the title of NeXT Spring 2020. How do you feel after this big comaback?

Lyn: 120 performed very well, but in terms of each other’s mistakes, items, and race balance, the results were relatively better for me.

Q: This is your third title of NeXT. In the past, you have participated 4 NeXT with Offline, which impressing you the most?

Lyn: In the China-Korea Clan War, everyone suggested me to play in the ACE match, but I recommended Moon. Everyone negotiated that let’s do a rock-paper-scissors, and I won. I cheered Moon and said, “You will win!” At that time, I was very happy because Moon did win the game.

Q: Let’s come back to this game. In the tiebreaker game with FoCuS, you changed the leveling route and plan, and you got a strange but effective result, which directly killed the level 2 Blade Master in a creep jack and established the victory. Is this a big move specially prepared for FoCuS?

Lyn: I am a type that will try new strategies when I play in tournaments. Although I haven’t used it before, but I just suddenly wanted to try it. In the end, I feel very lucky to get that Blade Master.

Why not using Raiders and Bat Riders against 120?

Q: Many people think that Raiders Run in Orc vs Undead is very unsolvable. In the Finals of last WGL Winter, you used Raiders with Zeppelin Drop and Bat Riders to kill the Haunted Gold Mine, and it made Happy so helpless. However, you didn’t do it when in this Finals against 120, and you chose to fight directly, Why?

Lyn: I prefer a stable style. When facing Undead players, because the items are similar, it will be disadvantageous for Orc when fighting, so I would choose to play more strategic. In this time, I played Fly100%’s style and took advantage in the early game, so I went to fight after that.

Q: How did you adjust your mindset when you were 0-2 behind in the final? Compared to the first two maps, which part did you play better on the last three maps?

Lyn: Although I was 0-2 behind, but I think the score is just a number. Playing well in the rest of the game is the key. Due to the mistakes, I lost the first two maps, so I changed play style, and seems it made a good result. 120 know very well of my style, he knows that I need an advantage in the early game, so I changed and used of this.

The game that I beat TeD on SV impressing me the most.

Q: In your career, you have performed to us many classic comebacks. Which game was the most impressive in your opinion?

Lyn: The game that I beat TeD on SV, which fully showed the advantage of Blade Master and the map.

Q: You were so unbeatable in the second half of 2019, but there were ups and downs after the year. And now you won a championship and proved your strength again. How did you adjust yourself during this time?

Lyn: After the year, I was either traveling or resting, so I was not very stable in shape, but I would still pay attention to other players. In these days. even if I felt stressed, I will practice hard and my strength will follow and increase.

The only problem is, Moon is too strong.

Q: Recently, you have lost to Moon many times, but you still had a good result on playing against other Night Elves. Why do you think Moon is more difficult to beat than other Night Elves? Have you found a way to deal with Moon now?

Lyn: I don’t think it’s very bad for Orc in Race Balance. The only problem is, Moon is too strong. Compared to other Night Elves, his micro is very good and he has many good and different tactics. It is sad that my Grunts and Shaman are unable to follow up his micro. The solution is that my shape have to be way better than Moon.

TH000 and Infi are still the Best Random Players.

Q: You won the Random vs Random against Infi on the previous day’s WGL Monthly Qualifier. Now that you can’t hide your random strength, do you often change races to practice? What do you want to say about Infi’s, since he called himself the “Best Random Player in the universe”?

Lyn: I usually play Random when I am bored. I think that if you want to be good at Random, you have to watch other players’ games. In that Random Match against Infi, I think I was luckier so I won. I still think that TH000 and Infi are the Best Random Players.

Q: Since losing to Sok in October 2019, your has maintained an all-win record for almost 7 months in Orc vs. Human. How did you achieve this?

Lyn: Although Chaemiko had a great improve, but he is still a little bit worse to catch up with TH000 and Infi. If they have been participating in the tournament, the results might be different. Of course, I think Orc is a little better in this match-up, because you can a little more chance to choose timing and leveling plan.

My teammates are also great, we have a chance, we will do our best

Q: There are some rumors say “your strategies in Orc vs. Human was inspired by the game of TH000 vs. Romantic game”. Is this true?

Lyn: I saw TH000 seemed very happy when he beat Fortitude with his Orc, so I gave him a big donation. But seems everyone misunderstood it, they thought that I learned so I gave a donation. Actually I wasn’t inspired by that game.

The point is, when Alchemist wasn’t nefted yet, I played once with TH000 with switching race. And I found that the War Stomp by Tauren Chieftain had a good effect Against Alchemist’s Healing spray. So now, every Orc’s strategies were designed around the War Stomp.

Q: You lost to RW and LP in the WGL Finals of the year. This time, you won three consecutive victories in the start. Are you confident that you will revenge them and find a way back?

Lyn: Everyone is very strong, I dare not guarantee we can do it. But my teammates are also great, so I think there is still a chance, we will do our best.

Q: One last question, it’s been a while since your last streaming. Do you plan to do it again in the future?

Lyn: Sometime I was busy or I felt too tired. I had some discussions about it recently. If things go well, I will be on live and streaming. I hope you will come and watch. Of course, you don’t need to pay for donation, just come and watch, it’s enough for me. Thanks ^ ^
