2021 Chinese New Year Invitational: Winner Interview Translation – The Finals day.

Game for Third – Moon vs. Lyn – Winner: Lyn

Question (TH000): First of all, congratulations on your 3-1 victory today. Can you give us a recap? Also you had a few mis-micro here and there and you laughed. Can you elaborate for us?

Lyn: Yes I have been dealing with hardware(mouse and keyboard) issues for the past couple of days. So every so often a hotkey mis-micro occurs. On the first map, I unloaded my items to consume potions and didn’t pick them back up. Then my grunt with a backpack picked them up without me noticing. When they dropped during the fight, I initially thought that it was a new blizzard bug. I was quite confused before I realized what had happened. I think my chances of winning on that map aren’t bad if it wasn’t for such a hick up.

Question (Infi): I have heard from many viewers that you are going to start a business. What’s your future plans as a Warcraft 3 player? Would you be less invested in competing or remain the same? 

Lyn: Yes, I initially had the thought of starting a business but it unexpectedly got wrecked by the current world health situation. Thus everything had to be delayed accordingly. Previously when I was competing, I just felt that the drive wasn’t there anymore. Then my lord wife encouraged me and got me fired up again. I will give the notion of running business a reconsideration sometime later.

Question (Fly100%): Let us thank Lyn’s lord wife for the opportunity of witnessing more games in the future.  Throughout your lengthy career, you have always been a top class orc player. For me personally, I haven’t been that consistent throughout my career. How have you stayed in such tip top shape for such a long time? Can you share your secret?

Lyn: Yes I feel those S-tiered players are rather gifted. On the other hand, people handle stress differently. I know some of them drink to a certain degree. I personally drink and I would grab a drink when I am stressed.

(Everyone was laughing)

Fly100%: Well this clearly explains why my performance is so inconstant, I don’t drink enough. XD

Fly: Again congratulations on placing third, and thank you for participating.

Lyn: Thank you for hosting an amazing competition as well.

Finals – Lawliet vs. Sok – Second place: Sok

(Sok: Give me a minute, I am ordering food, since I lost the bet.)

Question (Infi): Congratulations to Sok on getting second place in this invitational. Are you satisfied with second place? Are you confident to get first place next time? Do you think that you can beat Lawliet next time?

Sok: I am happy with my results this time. On the last map, I was upset that my Naga was surrounded and killed. As of the future, facing players like Lawliet brings quite a headache. They have an abundance of strategy for me to deal with and I need to prepare more on the counter plays. Therefore I can’t say I am confident to defeat Lawliet next time.

Question (TH000): From the games you played in this invitational, which was the most spectacular? What are your thoughts on Fire Lord? Do you think this will be a new meta for Human vs Night Elf?

Sok: The first time I saw Fire Lord first was on Western ladder. I don’t think dealing with it is particularly difficult. However it can take a considerable amount of hit points of my heroes so I went for a Fire Lord of my own. The most memorable game was against Fortitude. I consider him to be the favorite and winning made me happy.

Question (Fly100%): For the past two years you made significant improvement. Can you give some recommendations to the new players on how to do the same?

Sok: I think there are two important factors. The first being the time investment for practice; you need to invest a lot of time. The second is to learn from other players who are better than you. I mentioned yesterday that players like Infi, Th000, Fly, Fortitude, Blade. I would study how they play and use that to improve myself.

Question (Infi): I would like to ask one more. I have always thought that Sok’s fashion choices resemble a rapper. He has also shown his ability to break dance in the past. I would like to ask, do you like rap? If so can you rap for us?

Sok: I don’t rap but I do dance. My room is a bit small. Next time when we are offline I can break dance for the audience.

Question (Infi): Congratulations on placing first in this invitational. You demonstrated your dominance and mightness throughout the invitational. On turtle rock, there was a small detail that your archers redirected fire to the water elemental as Sok’s Archmage used his cloak. What was on your mind? Was this intentionally microed to murder that Archmage or a happy accident? 

(There was an interruption mid question, the interview started before the interpreter was present. Also this is when the viewer requested a second place interview.)

Lawliet: Yes everything happened according to my plan. I saw that he had a cloak in his inventory and I had the rune of the watcher from the shop. I predicted that he would use his cloak of shadows to save his Archmage so I redirected fire first.

Question (Infi): Well it seems that Sok has fallen for your plan. Would you guys be celebrating after this? Also many viewers are quite curious about the price of beef in Korea.

Lawliet: With the current world health situation, there are regulations that prohibits dining in past 2200. Before the game we had a bet, that the loser gets to order anything he wants and the winner will pay. So I will be heading over to his place after this to have dinner together. In terms of beef, it is quite expensive and I can’t afford it.

Q3 (Fly100%): Throughout this invitational you provided us with excellent games,no matter who your opponent was. How would you evaluate your performance? Which match do you think was the most difficult?

Lawliet: The most memorable was the game against Moon. Since I tend to lose to him in the past, I just let myself loose and went for it. As of Focus, I wasn’t optimistic either due to our past experience so it was rather unexpected on how well it went.

Question (Fly100%): We saw that even when you were at the disadvantage, you preserved victory.Many viewers are wondering if they would have the opportunity to see your dog. Also you seem to have lost some weight, can you share some experience with me? I have been packing some weight recently.

Lawliet: Yes they can see my dog. So last year, considering that I am about to be 30 years old, I decided to be more serious with my body management. Thus I ate a little bit less and did more exercises. Recently, since I have been inside for the most part, it rebounded a bit. Perhaps I will rebound all the way back soon.

Question (Fly100%): Since this is the first time that we are hosting a competition, can you share your thoughts and provide recommendations? We hope to continue and receive some feedback from the participants.

Lawliet: Thank you to the three of you for hosting this competition. It was quite fitting to the celebrating mood during the holiday season. Everything was well done so I don’t have any suggestions to provide. One thing tho, is that the three of you have taken up the roles of caster and I would like to face you guys as participants next time.

Question (TH000): I think that you had a wonderful performance this time. Despite the score of the final to be rather close, yet I consider you to be more dominant than what the number suggests. What’s your thought? Also would you be interested in the random race random hero game play?

Lawliet: I think the random race random hero game play would be rather fun. As the impact of luck will be greater. If the opportunity arises, I would like to give it a try.
