Results of WCG 2019’s Top4. (Spoiler)

Yesterday, we already had a very short summary about Infi vs HawK, and TH000 vs Moon in the Semi Finals. And now, let’s continue about the Match for Third and the Grand Final.

Match for Third: Moon vs Hawk

On the first map on CH, the most exciting moment was both of them were trying to knock down their opponent’s base first. In the game, Moon was playing with Dryads, so his damage on the base was very low. However, Moon played it so decisive, he bought two Goblin Sappers to bomb Hawk’s base.

After that, Hawk made a mistake on his Archmage, Moon killed the first hero immediately and won the following direct fight. Moon took his first point!

The second map we came to EI, Moon chose Demon Hunter first and learned Immolation. And he succeeded to harass Hawk’s leveling. After that, with Naga second, Moon went to attack Hawk’s expansion and upgraded his tech at the same time. With the big advantage and the level 5 Demon Hunter, Moon beat Hawk and won the Match for Third.

Grand Final: Infi vs TH000

On the first map on Amazonia, both of them chose to play with the same strategy but TH000 killed more units in the mid game. After that, Infi and TH000 expanded at the same time, but TH000 went to attack the expansion, although he was forced to TP, but he also knocked down Infi’s expansion.

At last, Infi went for an all-in, although killed TH000 Archmage in the fight, but he also lost his MK after that. Infi called out GG.

Infi made a strong comeback!

And we came to an old map of AI. Both side also chose the same opening, however, TH000 didn’t recover in time, and Infi took the chance and grabbed a big camp from TH000. After that they went for a base trade. Although TH000 knocked down Infi’s base but Infi had an expansion. At the same time, TH000 was upgrading to Tier 3, and Infi killed so many Peasants.

With the advantage of economy, Infi beat TH000 and tied the series to 1-1.

TH000 made a big mistake in the opening.

The decision game came on LR. TH000 chose to creep Mercenary Camp first. However, he didn’t play well on the details, his Water Elemantal got Ensnared and his Footman and Peasants had to tank the damage.

After the mistake, TH000 knew that he had to play risky, so he went for expansion immediately, by the time he was in Tier 1. Infi found his plan and went to attack very soon, and Infi also summoned Panda second to continue attack the expansion.

At last, TH000 lost so many units and he realized he couldn’t make a comeback. So he called out GG.

Format

• Group stage: 
  All players will divide into 4 groups for the Bo3(Best of 3) and double elimination format, the top 2 players of each group will advance to the Ro8(Round of 8).
• Ro8(Round of 8): 
  These 8 players will divide into 2 groups for Bo3 and double elimination format, the top 2 players in each group will advance to the Semi Final.
• Semi Final and Grand Final: 
  The top 4 players will play Bo5 and single elimination format.

Prize Pool and Points allotment

Additionally, in the June Ladder just ended, the top3 players, Chaemiko, Lawliet and FoCuS got 5 points for their points system. Congratulations to them!
